Diocese of Rochester Cycle of Prayer

The daily cycles of prayer for the Rochester Diocese

Prayer point for May 20, 2020

God of compassion, be close to those who are ill, afraid or in isolation. In their loneliness, be their consolation; in their anxiety, be their hope; in their darkness, be their light; through him who suffered alone on the cross, but reigns with you in glory, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (From Church of England Coronavirus (COVID-19) liturgy and prayer resources.) This is a suggested additional cycle so that we can pray for those ‘key workers’ holding the burden of keeping the country running during the crisis:

for key public services as well as Local and national government. Parish cycle:

Sevenoaks, St John the Baptist

Vicar: The Rev Robin Jones

Community Cycle:

St John's CE Primary School, Sevenoaks

Headteacher: Mrs Sally Quirk

Today is Rogation Day

Today the Church of England remembers Alcuin, deacon, abbott, 804.
